Available Volunteer Roles

  • We are looking for a policy enthusiast with strong written communication skills to lead our Government Relations efforts. With the support of FFTโ€™s Managing Director, Taylor Hawkins, this person will help develop political engagement strategies, briefings for members of Parliament and advise on core advocacy positions. This role is best suited for someone with experience working in government and is open to those seeking a public facing role, or those looking to work behind the scenes.

  • Are you a passionate writer with an interest in policy and a desire to bring a new idea to life? Then we would love to hear from you. FFT will soon be launching its own blog and we are looking for a Deputy Editor to work alongside one of the most experienced members of our team to design, develop and grow this platform. You will have the chance to input into the identity, positioning and curation of the blog, also serving as the lead writer on a selection of pieces to be published on the platform. Experience in research and writing for this role will be preferred.

  • Are you a research buff with a passion for using policy design and law reform to make the world a better place? Then we want you! We are looking for two Research Leads to work with our team as we dig into the details of what will be required to protect the interests of future generations in Australia. You will work alongside experienced researchers as we articulate a clear vision for future policy, consulting with subject matter experts and considering best practice case studies to formulate concrete recommendations.

  • Are you social media savvy, a copywriting extraordinaire, a graphic design whiz or have a passion for making complex ideas accessible and easy to understand? Then we want you! FFTโ€™s Marketing & Communications Coordinators will steer the ship on how we tell the story of FFT and how we champion future generations policy and intergenerational fairness. The role of each Coordinator will be sculpted to the skills and interests of the individual, and we welcome the opportunity to support the learning journey of new volunteers as they grow and develop new skill sets!

  • The FFT team prides itself on facilitating spaces for productive, intergenerational dialogue. Through the Parliamentary Group for Future Generations, the Intergenerational Fairness Coalition, and other collaborations, FFT often convenes events in Canberra and across Australia. We are looking for a Canberra local to support us in bringing our work to life on the ground. You will work alongside our existing team, many of whom are Canberra-based, to ensure that our events go off without a hitch.
