Mapping Australian long-term governance
Foundations for Tomorrow partnered with The School of International Futures and WEAll Australia to comprehensively map Australia's long-term governance ecosystem. Across 183 organisations and more than 30 expert interviews, the research surfaced novel insights about where momentum in the landscape is concentrated, where it is most fragile and where the highest-leverage opportunities for investment lie.

A first-of-its-kind project bridging policy analysis and foresight techniques to engage with the on-the-ground realities of everyday Australians and the impacts of our continued short-term thinking. This project bridged the gap between complex policy discussions and the lived experience of everyday Australians across the country, from the plumber in the Northern Territory to the teacher in Victoria, showing how decisions made today shape lives for generations to come.

In collaboration with the United Nations Foundations' Unlock the Future coalition and Orygen, Foundations for Tomorrow hosted an Intergenerational Town Hall. It brought together voices from grassroots advocates to high-level policymakers to craft a vision for the year 2100.

A 12-month, cross-sector collaboration to design how Australia can run a structured, large-scale public engagement process to shape the direction of its long-term future. More than 150 organisations and experts have signed up to build the shared mandate and durable decision-making infrastructure needed to overcome political short-termism.

The Future Generations Fellowship is FFT's flagship leadership development program, designed to address Australia's urgent pipeline deficit of trusted, capable leaders across diverse sectors equipped with the capabilities to advance long-term governance. Fellows are embedded directly within live policy and civic initiatives, working alongside parliamentarians, policymakers, academics and civil society leaders to contribute to reform processes.
